Use these guides and tools when choosing a guild or preparing to play with one. Start with your game version: a build, item or raid guide for one version may not apply to another. Check the version and update date before following its advice.
Choose a guild and plan your schedule
How to find a WoW guild
Work through your preferred activities, weekly availability and expectations before contacting an officer. Use it to build a shortlist rather than applying to every guild you see.
Compare guild schedules
Look at published activity times and check whether the full session fits your week. Confirm the guild's time zone, attendance expectations and how it handles daylight saving changes.
WoW guild recruitment guide
For officers writing a recruitment listing: explain your community, open roles, requirements, schedule and joining process so players can judge the fit.
Research your character and prepare for group content
Wowhead
Look up items, quests and game guides. Select the version you play before checking a requirement or planning an upgrade.
Icy Veins class guides
Research talents, rotations, gearing and role preparation. Choose the appropriate game section and specialisation, then use the guide to identify what to practise before joining a group.
Understand raid progression and performance
Warcraft Logs
Review recorded encounters and combat performance. If a guild requests logs, ask which reports or encounters it wants to see. The Warcraft Logs getting-started guide explains how recording and uploading work.
Raider.IO
Research character and guild profiles, raid progression and Mythic+ activity. Check the relevant game version and season before comparing results.
Logs and progression are useful conversation starters. Also ask about the group's pace, teaching, attendance and social expectations; a score alone cannot tell you whether you will enjoy playing together.
Check official game information
Blizzard's World of Warcraft website is the official starting point for game announcements and information. Check official updates when preparing for a new patch or confirming a change that affects your guild's plans.
Before you contact a guild
- Check that its game version, region and activity times match yours.
- Read the open roles and requirements. Prepare the character details or reports the guild actually requests.
- Use the contact or application link on its profile and ask how new members get started.
