WoW Guild Recruitment: Build a Useful Listing
What officers should publish so the right players can decide whether to apply.

Claim an existing guild or create a listing
Search the guild index for your name and region first. If your guild is there, open its page and request a claim. Support checks your officer authority before granting editing access. A verified claim creates a draft; it does not automatically publish recruitment details.
If the guild is not indexed, create a new guild listing. Sign in with a verified account, complete the required fields and submit it for review. Keep the guild name consistent with its in-game identity so players can recognise it.
Make region, language and times unambiguous
Specify the game region and realm, then the community location and communication language. Those answer different questions. “Oceania” describes a community location; the Americas & Oceania game region covers more than that community alone.
Publish actual weekly days, start and end times, and a named timezone. If the schedule is flexible, say what flexibility means in your description: a regular group that chooses nights together is different from a guild with no organised sessions. Include any preparation or optional activities that influence the real weekly commitment.
When times change, update the listing before asking new applicants to rely on it. Players can use schedule and weekly-hours filters, so clear timing makes the listing easier to evaluate.
Describe a real opening rather than “all welcome” alone
Select the activities the guild actually offers and the roles you currently need. For a specific team, choose class and specialisation preferences where relevant and explain any flexibility. If the opening is for a healer with a damage off-spec, state that in the written openings instead of expecting players to infer it.
Keep goals separate from results. Name the raid and difficulty when sharing progression, and date the information. A future Mythic ambition and a current Heroic roster can both be accurate, but presenting the ambition as completed progress will attract the wrong expectations.
Give additional raid teams their own schedules, openings and goals. This lets players match the actual team that would take their application.
Explain the experience of being a member
Use the description for the details that a checkbox cannot convey: attendance expectations, preparation, how roster rotation works, how new players learn, and what voice participation means. If you use an age requirement or community preference, explain the practical expectation clearly.
A useful opening paragraph could be: “We are a two-night Retail raid team focused on a steady Heroic clear. We are looking for one healer who can regularly attend both nights. Applicants can expect a conversation with an officer and a trial with the team.” Replace that example with your guild’s actual policy.
Give players a direct next step
Publish the public contact method your officers actually monitor: a Discord username, guild server link or application page. Tell applicants what to send and whether they should contact a particular officer. The private officer contact in the submission form is for site review and is not shown to players.
You can upload a guild avatar and banner, then adjust their positioning in the editor. Use artwork that identifies your guild and keep essential application instructions in text, where players can read and search them.
Keep recruitment current
Update class openings as the roster changes, close recruitment when appropriate, and reconfirm the listing while you are still recruiting. Recruitment listings expire after 14 days without officer confirmation. Changes and reopened recruitment go through review.
Recommendations and spotlight bumps help the community discover published guilds. They are engagement signals, not proof of progression or a guarantee of a suitable match. A clear, accurate listing gives interested players something useful to evaluate once they arrive.
